Fair Work First Statement

Fair Work First Statement

At With Intent Partners, we are committed to upholding the Scottish Government’s Fair Work First criteria. As a boutique sustainability consultancy, we believe that fair, inclusive, and flexible working practices are fundamental to driving high-quality outcomes, supporting workforce well-being, and building a sustainable economy.

We align our day-to-day operations with the seven Fair Work First dimensions as follows:

1. Payment of at least the real Living Wage

We are committed to paying all direct employees, associates, and sub-contractors at least the accredited real Living Wage rate.

We do not engage unpaid interns or pay below the real Living Wage for any operational or project roles.

2. Appropriate Channels for Effective Workers' Voice

Given our micro-team structure, we maintain an open, transparent culture where all team members have a direct voice in strategic decisions, workload planning, and operational changes.

We hold regular dedicated 1-to-1s and weekly team check-ins to invite constructive dialogue, feedback, and co-design of internal workflows.

We support the right of any worker or contractor to join and be represented by a trade union.

3. Investment in Workforce Development

We regularly allocate time and resource for continuous professional development (CPD), formal training, and capability building across sustainability frameworks, carbon accounting, and strategic facilitation.

Knowledge-sharing and peer review are structured directly into our project delivery cycles.

4. No Inappropriate Use of Zero-Hours Contracts

We do not use non-guaranteed hours or zero-hours contracts.

All staff are offered predictable, guaranteed contractual hours. Where associate consultants or freelancers are engaged for specialist support, work is delivered under clear, agreed terms with transparent scopes and fee structures.

5. Action to Tackle Workplace Inequalities

We actively promote equality, diversity, and inclusion across all aspects of our business.

We operate a zero-tolerance policy towards discrimination, harassment, or bullying.

We regularly review pay equity across our team to ensure there are no pay gaps based on gender, race, disability, or other protected characteristics.

6. Flexible and Family-Friendly Working Practices

We offer flexible, hybrid, and remote working arrangements to all team members from day one of employment.

We support flexible hours, compressed schedules, and family-friendly practices to enable a healthy work-life balance and accommodate personal and caring commitments.

7. Opposition to 'Fire and Rehire' Practices

We explicitly oppose the practice of dismissing workers and re-engaging them on less favourable terms and conditions.

Any changes to working conditions or contracts are conducted through open, mutual, and meaningful consultation.
